I/P converters are used to convert an analog signal (4 to 20 mA) to a proportional linear pneumatic output (3 to 15 psig). This type of device is called I/P converter since it converts a current signal (I) to a pressure signal (P).
Why use I/P converters?
An IP converter is used for control applications when reliability and repeatability is required at a low cost. An integral volume booster provides high flow capacity and increasing control speed in critical applications. I/P converters are available in several different models and ranges, typical 0,2-1 bar output but also an extended range up to 10 bar for higher pressure pneumatic.
The I/P converter is generally fitted on standard pneumatic actuators or in cabinets. Available in standard for wall, panel or pipe mounting and optional DIN rail and manifold kits. Multifunctional manifolds come with common supply and individual shutoff valves.
Ramén offers general purpose, miniature and manifold I/P converters from Flowserve, ITT and ControlAir.
